The Book Of Life: The First Prologue - Chapter 3
The discovery of the blown out candle and the toll it had on her body came together in seconds. When Osvaldo had vanished, she’d already dropped to the floor, candies spilling everywhere. She clutched her chest, and her heart came to a stop. Her body writhed in pain, nails digging into her dress, and hot tears flooding her eyes. She couldn’t breathe, so she could not speak or cry out. The pain in her body matched the pain in her heart – the dead would not be allowed to rest in peace, and those that deserved to be remembered would be lost forever. Humanity had the right to be happy, and now that chance was gone.

Long, long ago, when this world was fresh and new, the Candlemaker create his first candles. Plants, animals, humans, all that could live started their lives here. The Candlemaker was pleased with his work, but he soon realized that these lives could not last forever – the earth simply wouldn’t have the space for all those future generations. The living deserved a place for when they were no longer living. However, the Candlemaker did not know what this place should be. He ultimately decided to ask the humans for their ideas.
Now as you know, Mexico is the center of the universe, and this is where humanity first blossomed. In a t

The museum was ready to close up for the day. The lights shut off one by one, and the tour guides bid each other a good night. The security was lax, which was no one noticed the small figure outside pressed up against the exterior of the museum. That was the intent, of course. She didn’t want to be seen – not yet. She held her breath, watching the moving shadows behind the glass doors. She waited as they faded, perhaps taking a back entrance. Now was a good chance.
She moved slowly against the wall, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. There was the ‘trick wall’, a delightful illusion, just as described by h

It was with an odd sense of relief that Minnie went back to school, ready to put the last few days behind her. With the semester slowly coming to an end, everything appeared to have calmed down, and Minnie even started humming to herself as she walked down the familiar hallway. Why shouldn't she be happy? Their enemies had been defeated, her friends were safe, and despite the accidental bite, she wasn't a vampire. The only thing wrong with the day was that she was still hungry, despite having a large breakfast that morning. She merely shrugged it off, and when she saw Donald and Daisy

Uncle Scrooge’s words kept me up for the next two nights. I had decided to interfere this time, and due to that, the studios were giving me the final say.
For once.
And boy, what a time to give me that right.
I kept staring at my phone, at the studios and at home, debating on whether to call Dan back in or not. I met up with the team I spent the pitch with, and they all agreed that it was only fair that I had the final say. Thankfully, they let me sleep on it.
Or you know, try to.
“Mickey,” Minnie whispered the second night, as my absence from bed woke her. She turned on her lamp and looked at me as I paced back and for

The work was tiring, but it was getting done. She didn’t have a doubt in her mind that she’d been given this particular chore as a pathetic attempt at bullying. After all, the mop was taller than she was, the bucket was rusty and leaky, and the halls at times seemed endless. Yet Minnie never said a complaint, ignoring the snickers of the elder maids as she dragged the mop and bucket behind her. If she showed them an ounce of sadness, then they’d want more. Best to keep her chin up and carry through.
At least when she was alone in this particular hallway, she could a

Ow. That was the very first thought that came to Prince Mickey’s head, and it lingered there for a long moment. As he started to open his eyes, he instinctively went to touch his injured arm, and that was when the second thought came to him – who had wrapped it up? With that jarring realization, energy shot throughout his body, and now he was wide awake and very aware of his new surroundings. He sat up, though winced at his arm – though someone had delicately taken care of his injury, it still smarted if he moved too much at once.
The moon shone brightly through gra
